James Hardie Siding (Staggered Shingle – Colonial Roughsawn) Updated Look, Houston Texas

Wow, great before and after photos are showcasing in this siding job. Below is a project completed in Houston TX by our company Texas Home Exteriors. The Homeowner of this home wanted a unique and defined look so they selected James Hardie (hardiplank) Staggered Shingle for the gables. Then Colonial Roughsawn was used on the side walls for their chosen siding replacement option because of the durability offered of the James Hardie 30-year warranty. After the siding was installed, the home was painted with fresh new colors using Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint to keep it looking beautiful for years to come. The New siding color (see below) is Intellectual Gray SW 7045 and the trim color is Snowbound SW 7004. The door color is Fireweed SW 6328. What nice color combinations we must say!

Updated HardiPlank Siding Selections

This completed HardiPlank project is a home located near the Reliant Center close to downtown Houston TX inside the interstate 610 loop, a great project showing updated home exterior with before, during and after photos. The new James Hardie Staggered Shingle and Colonial Roughsawn siding looks awesome with the contrasting colors! The neighbors with often stop and look as the siding crews installing the new siding Hardie Siding Products. Of course many of them wanted a free estimate on their home as well!

 A New Look For This Houston TX Home

The original dark brown wood siding was installed in a vertical pattern we found to have a of rotting going on. This old wood siding was removed, Tyvek HomeWrap was installed under the siding to keep moisture out of the home and allow the walls of the home to breath.  Also, the Tyvek ThermaWrap was offered as an upgrade and will increase the energy efficiency of the home. James Hardie Colonial Roughsawn James Hardie Lap Siding was then installed in a horizontal pattern per the homeowner’s siding selection. We then installed the James Hardie (staggered edge) for accents on each of the gables of the home.

 The Sherwin-Williams Paint Color Selection

The new paint was carefully selected by the homeowner as can be seen in the images above. The updates of the siding and color provide a beautiful updated look to this home. The transformation of this home can be seen in the before and after photos.

“We hired Texas Home Exteriors to replace the old wood siding on our 50’s house with new HardiPlank and new painted (and in some cases, replaced) trim. They did a phenomenal job and it now feels like we have a brand new home!

Our experience started when Bill came to our house in response to our request for a quote. He walked around the house and answered all of our questions, showing us samples, talking through the process, etc. This was a great start because we had previously called a couple of places who would only give us a rough quote over the phone, so the personal attention started right away. After we signed the contract, Greg and Shelly came out and did another detailed walkthrough and again were incredibly patient and willing to answer any and all questions.

One the project got started, we met Carlos and his crew, who were all polite and professional. They did minor cleanup at the end of each day and a very thorough cleanup at the end. It took just over a week to do the entire house: lapboard siding on 4 walls, shingle siding on two large walls and a dormer, painted trim everywhere with lots of replacement (we had a bunch of rotten wood siding and trim), installed new french doors, installed new gutters, painted three doors, and painted the siding itself.

Throughout the entire project, Greg and his crew were amazingly helpful, patient, and friendly. They really bent over backwards to make sure we were completely satisfied, and we honestly could not be happier with the results. I would recommend them without reservation, and would definitely use them again if the occasion came up.”
